Las Nubes comes from a small coffee farmers' community from Jinotega. Las Nubes is gathered from the smallest screen-size beans from their coffees. As these beans have undergone the same meticulous care and farming methods as the producers' micro-lots, the community wanted to create a brand in order to sell these smaller beans to specialty markets, where they definitely belong. Even though the lots are sold under the same name - Las Nubes, they are still processed separately to ensure proper traceability, and this specific coffee comes from Mr. Montolla Perez. By being able to sell even the smallest screen sizes to the specialty coffee markets the whole productivity of the farm grows thus bettering the economic sustainability of the whole farmer community.
Las Nubes means the clouds and the coffees come from the foggy mountains of Cordillera Isabelia. This cordillera is one of the first regions that started with large productions of coffee and most of the farmers there still conserve traditional production techniques.
